Additional Services
In addition to our primary services, the following services may also
be offered to caregivers and their families based on a consultation with a member of our staff:
Individual and Group Support
When it helps just to talk, we're here to listen, either
one-on-one or in a group of people coping with similar concerns. Counseling
sessions, classes and support groups led by professional counselors
are available for caregivers.
Legal Consultations
Meetings with attorneys experienced in estate and financial
matters, conservatorships, powers of attorney, eligibility for government
programs and other benefits.
Respite
Redwood CRC helps families locate appropriate respite
care for a loved one. Limited financial assistance may be offered to help
with the expense of in-home aids, daycare, overnight care, weekend respite,
or transportation for a brain-impaired family member.
Program Development, Advocacy, and Research
Redwood CRC works with community organizations and consumers
to develop and advocate for services for caregivers and brain-impaired
adults. In collaboration with Family
Caregiver Alliance, the Redwood CRC participates in research on caregiver
stress, service needs, costs of care, and other family concerns.
