Classes
Redwood Caregiver Resource Center is pleased to offer several classes on an ongoing basis. Below is a list if the classes that we are currently offering. Each class is facilitated by an Master's level clinician and member of the RCRC staff.
Managing Frustration
Managing Frustration is a popular workshop for family caregivers and paid respite
workers taking care of those with dementia. This class will offer YOU skills to:
- Learn to relax
- Control negative thoughts
- Communicate effectively
- Act assertively when necessary
- Take care of yourself
- Reduce guilt, anger and depression
This class is currently offered at the following locations:
Guerneville:
Class meetings will be held: Jan. 21, 28; Feb. 4, 11, 18, 25; March 3, 10. All classes will meet from 1:30PM to 3:30PM at the Russian River Senior Center, 15010 Armstrong Woods Road, Guerneville, CA 95446. Please contact Silva at (707)869-0618 with any questions.
Petaluma:

Powerful Tools for Caregivers
One of the greatest challenges of being a family caregiver is maintaining
one's own physical and emotional health. This class will offer YOU tools to:
- Reduce personal stress
- Use community resources
- Practice relaxation techniques
- Make tough caregiving decisions
- Reduce guilt, anger and depression
- Set goals and problem-solve
This class is currently offered at the following locations:
Sonoma:
Class meetings will be held: Jan. 22, 29; Feb. 5, 19, 26; March 4, 11, 18. Please note there will be no class Feb. 12 due to Holiday. All classes will meet from 1:30PM to 4:00PM at the Vintage House, 264 First Street East, Sonoma, CA 95476. Please call (707)996-0311 with any questions.
It Takes Two
It Takes Two is a popular 4-session series for family caregivers who care for a person with dementia. Caregivers will learn how to increase their abilities to:
- Understand, communicate and remain "connected" with their loved ones
- Understand and modify troublesome dementia behavior
- Gain the participation and cooperation of your loved ones while assisting in activities of daily living
This class is currently offered at the following locations:
Clearlake:
