Caring for a loved one with a brain disorder forever changes the lives of families and caregivers. There can be devastating effects on those providing long-term care: financial pressures, legal quandaries, health problems, emotional turmoil. Fortunately, in California, there is help.

The Redwood Caregiver Resource Center helps families and communities master the challenges of caring for adults with brain disorders through programs and services that address the emotional, physical, and financial needs of family caregivers.

Who We Serve: We provide information and assistance to families and caregivers of adults with brain impairments due to injury or disease, as well as to the caregivers of the frail elderly.

How We Operate: A trained Redwood CRC family consultant helps you understand what a diagnosis means and will develop a personal plan of action which best suits you and your family’s caregiving needs. After a family consultation, additional services may also be offered.

As part of California's network of caregiver resource centers, Redwood CRC offers the following services at little or no cost to caregivers and families in our area:

Family Consultation: Family Consultants provide a personalized needs assessment with care recommendations. The Family Consultation provides family caregivers with a road map and plans for the caregiving journey.

Information: Answers to your questions on brain disorders, care options and community programs, and assistance in easing the emotional stress that 'round-the-clock caregiving can cause.

Education: Workshops and conferences for caregivers and professional health care providers are held throughout the year. See our upcoming classes here! Speakers are available for community presentations.

Care Planning: A Redwood CRC family consultant can help you understand what a diagnosis means and can help you put together a plan of action which best suits you and your family's caregiving needs.

Counseling: Ongoing support counseling is available to registered family caregivers to address caregiving related concerns. Referrals to professionals are available to address other counseling needs.
